Thich Nhat Hanh has produced many beautiful calligraphies—including Breathe, You Are Alive; No mud, no lotus; Go as a river; Peace in Oneself, Peace in the World—to remind people of the joys and healing that come with the art of mindful living.

The Mindful Art Of Thich Nhat Hanh is a collection of superbly executed calligraphic expressions as a work of art. It is also a living meditative experience for those who attend, whether experienced meditators or not. The central theme is the Art of Mindfulness, which visitors will be invited to explore through reflecting first on the exquisite artwork and then on the selected excerpts from the Zen Master’s writing as an inspiration to practice the art of mindful living themselves.

This will be the first time Thich Nhat Hanh’s calligraphy will be on display in the United States. The exhibit has been shown in France, Germany, Taiwan, Thailand, Canada, and Hong Kong, where curator, Dr. Eva Yuen, wrote:

The joy of looking at Thich Nhat Hanh’s calligraphies can be described as watching a beautiful dancer weaving himself into harmonious postures with perfect control.

The principles on which the brush strokes are balanced into a beautiful pattern are the achievements of his aesthetic vision and years of practice.
