This retreat brings together the practices of mindfulness and drawing and painting as we discover how each can feed the other. Our mindful meditations and exercises will be gently guided toward encouraging an openhearted curiosity and reflection upon the act of looking, leading to a peaceful and grounded awareness of our immediate, and natural, surroundings. Throughout the retreat we will be invited to patiently explore afresh the act of drawing, without judgement, and with acceptance, in a mindful environment.
The drawing sessions will be part of a daily schedule that includes formal and informal practices of meditation, such as walking, working and eating meditation. Tuition will be provided in the craft skills of drawing and painting, so whether your drawing is a daily practice, something that terrifies or anywhere in between, through awareness of ourselves, each other, and of the earth, our practice may be strengthened with gratitude and a sense of wonder.
