Taking our time to welcome the onset of spring, we will spend a few hours each day getting our hands dirty! Working outside in the elements or inside the cosy polytunnel, we will learn how to bring mindfulness into practice of gardening, becoming more effective gardeners and ensuring that our work is nourishing and healing for us. From beginning gardening jobs, moving between them and using both our bodies and tools skillfully, we can work in a way that supports both the garden and the gardener. Playfulness is also an important part of this retreat as we remember to relax and have fun in the garden.
While the emphasis of the retreat is on mindfulness, there will be opportunities to learn basic skills like plant propagation, caring for the soil, cultivating fruit / veg and pruning. During our time together we will contemplate our deep connection with the earth and how we inter-are with nature. There will be morning and evening meditations with opportunities to reflect on our experiences together as a group.Led by guest facilitators Ark Redwood (author of Mindful Gardening) and John Moore.
