Sơn Ha Temple

Son Ha Temple is a small monastery housing 15 monks and it has been a cozy home for many us. The old farm buildings nestle amongst woodland at the foot of the hill on which Upper Hamlet stands.

We are currently in the process of renovating the main building and this year we have already given the kitchen a makeover bringing in a lot of light and space to create a more joyful and practical working environment.

Now we need to create more bedrooms on the second level of the building to increase our capacity to receive more monastic brothers.

In order for us to create more bedrooms on this floor, the building structure is required to be renovated, a new roof is crucially needed and the floor needs to be replaced. The estimated cost for this project is approximately 60,000 Euros.

In addition, our meditation hall roof has been leaking for the last 2 winters and it has now gone beyond being able to be patched up. If the conditions allow, we also would like to replace this roof. The estimated cost to replace this roof is 25,000 Euros.

We humbly ask for your help in sponsoring part of the costs of these projects so that we can begin the work soon. Any financial support that you can provide is greatly appreciated. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to all of you who have supported and continue to support our practice here at Son Ha.
