Christmas & New Year Celebrations

You are warmly invited to join us for one or two weeks during the Christmas and New Year period.

It is a very special time of year in Plum Village, with music, singing, mindfulness practices and moving celebrations on both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. It is a time to truly “come home”, to enjoy a strong energy of togetherness as a spiritual family.

We continue our daily practice of sitting meditation, walking meditation, mindful eating and mindful working, with adaptations to reflect this joyful time of year. The schedule becomes much more flexible, joyful and communal during these two weeks to allow time to enjoy carolling, sitting around the stoves and fireplaces, decorating our hamlets, and preparing special dishes and performances.

Please note that this year arrival and departure is on Saturday:

  • Christmas Week: arriving Saturday 21, departing Saturday 28 December
  • New Year Week: arriving Saturday 28 December, departing Saturday 4 January
Unfortunately we can not receive single men during the New Year week.

You are welcome to stay for one or both weeks. To support a harmonious and stable collective energy, please do not arrive or depart on any other day. Although there will be no guided program or special activities for children, families are welcome to join us.
