2016 Wake Up Ireland Retreat
Thursday 5th to Sunday 8th May 2016
at Creagh Castle, Doneraile, Co. Cork
Join us for the fifth Wake Up Retreat for Young Adults in Ireland. Leave the city behind, get a breath of fresh air, and celebrate awakened living with a lively group of young mindfulness practitioners and monastics from Plum Village in Creagh Castle, Doneraile, North County Cork.
The title of this year’s retreat is ‘Letting Go’.
Letting go gives us freedom, and freedom is the only condition for happiness. If, in our heart, we still cling to anything, anger, anxiety or possessions – we cannot be free…People have a hard time letting go of their suffering. Out of fear of the unknown, they prefer suffering that is familiar”
-Thich Nhat Hanh
This retreat offers us time and space to let go from the busyness of life and begin to reclaim our ability to come back to the present moment. With the tools of mindfulness practice, we will learn to let go of our habitual energies and over-thinking, and learn how to be.
