Plum Village - all hamlets
The four-week Summer Opening is Plum Village’s largest and most festive retreat.
The Summer Opening is a time to be nourished by deep yet accessible teachings on the art of mindful living; to enjoy the peace and beauty summer countryside; and to celebrate the joy of community.
We welcome families, couples and individuals of all ages, and all nationalities, to join us for 1 to 4 weeks during this joyful time of living mindfully together.
Plum Village monks and nuns will offer special programs for children, teens and young adults. Please read more about bringing your children and teens to Plum Village before registering.
Dharma Talks will be translated simultaneously into at least six languages (e.g. German, Dutch, French, English, Spanish, Chinese and Vietnamese).
The Summer Opening is a wonderful retreat for those new to mindfulness practice in the Plum Village tradition, as well as for anyone interested in mindful community life.
You can choose to come for one, two, three or four weeks. Arrival and departure is on Saturdays only:
Week 1: Saturday July 8th – Saturday July 15th
Week 2: Saturday July 15th – Saturday July 22nd
Week 3: Saturday July 22nd – Saturday July 29th
Week 4: Saturday July 29th – Saturday August 5th
Since Plum Village generally hosts over 400 participants per week (spread out over our five hamlets), we recommend that you register early, and at the latest by June 1st, to ensure a space. If you are considering bringing your children, please first read more about our Children’s and Teens’ Programs.
Please note: It is not possible to offer translation in the children’s program. Please have compassion for your child and the children program staff and register in the hamlet where the children’s program in your language is taking place.
Please watch this video to learn how to register for multiple people.
