Sitting meditation is a chance to stop, to rest, and to come home to ourselves. We don’t sit to become someone else or to reach a special state; we sit to be fully present with the body, the breath and the moment we are living.

In this course, we’ll explore sitting meditation through short teachings, guided sittings, and simple exercises you can bring into your daily life.

What you’ll explore

You’ll learn how to:

  • Find a posture that is stable and relaxed
  • Follow your breathing without forcing it
  • Release tension in the body
  • Recognise and care for feelings as they arise
  • Let thoughts come and go
  • Bring moments of sitting into an ordinary day

Continue your practice

For the next seven days, sit for a few minutes each day. It can be as short as three breaths.

There is no need to sit perfectly. Simply notice when your mind has wandered, return to your breath, and enjoy sitting.
