On the 22nd, there will be a lamp transmission ceremony for seven Dharma teachers. Afterwards, from the 23rd to the 3rd of March, there will be a period of rest, concluding with the Thúy Tiên festival and a Dharma talk broadcast remotely to Từ Hiếu Root Temple. Each Dharma teacher will share a short insight verse (5–8 minutes), with interpretation in English, French, and Vietnamese, and the community is invited to wear beautiful attire to celebrate together.

The tenth assembly of the poem Living Joyfully in the World begins with the line: “Those practitioners, holding only one emptiness, use skillful means according to each person’s capacity,” explained as follows:

  • holding only one emptiness – there is only one reality, which is emptiness, the ground of all that is, and the sole aim of our practice
  • use skillful means – to practice according to circumstances; each person’s capacity – the unique nature and instrument of each individual
The teacher, the ancestral teacher, gives each person a “key” (koan) to recognize and release the knots in the mind, so that the inherent wisdom and love can flow freely. Like incense passing on the flame, we need to make our mind dry and receptive so that the lamp transmission continues without interruption, bringing peace and clarity to ourselves and to everyone.
