We begin by contemplating six people around us to establish a profile of ourselves through what our loved ones and those who have misunderstood us say about us.
Living in the Sangha helps the work of contemplation to be natural and supported, because whenever we see that someone has a wrong idea about us, we come and ask directly:
Sister, what do you think about your brother?
Sister, what have you heard about your brother?
If there is something wrong, we clarify it in order to keep the relationship pure and to nurture friendship and understanding through six months of deep contemplation practice.

The Russian writer Leo Tolstoy removed the mystical elements from the Bible to see Christ as a simple teacher with the core teaching of loving God and loving human beings.
He summarized it into five precepts, instead of ten, including:

  • do not get angry
  • do not commit adultery
  • do not swear oaths
  • do not resist evil with evil
  • do not consider anyone as an enemy
