Let’s take a moment of silence to honor those who have passed and those who suffer. Chant to Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of deep listening, practicing hearing the world’s suffering and the call for peace within. Thich Nhat Hanh welcomes everyone to a mindfulness practice session in California, nurturing qualities like stability and joy. Mindful breathing and walking help us return to the present moment, releasing anxiety about the future. Practice mindfulness in actions like walking and listening to deeply engage with each moment. The Buddha’s analogy of crossing to the other shore emphasizes proactive steps towards well-being, guided by the six paramitas. Practice giving true presence, cultivating mindfulness and deep living. Nirvana embodies liberation from afflictions like anger and jealousy. Plum Village monks and nuns show happiness in appreciating life’s wonders, free from sensual pleasures. Practice meditation to calm and concentrate, focusing on mindfulness trainings. Practice compassionate listening and mindful consumption to protect consciousness from negativity. Buddha advised Rahula to embrace and transform difficulties like the earth receives everything. Nurture seeds of understanding, compassion, loving-kindness, and forgiveness. Practice nurturing positive seeds within ourselves to cultivate awareness and well-being. Mindful living connects us to our true nature beyond birth and death, releasing negativity. Achieving freedom from desires and anger, dwelling in the present moment, is a significant accomplishment. Practice mindfulness in daily lives to attain freedom in the present moment. Smile at the world, embracing life’s joys and sorrows with an open heart, becoming interconnected with all beings.
