Feedback

Today, in Lower Hamlet, on March 14, 1993, we gather for a Day of Mindfulness, emphasizing mindful breathing and listening deeply to uncover clarity and depth. Practicing with a Sangha, even imperfect, offers essential support and motivation, enhancing mindfulness through activities like silent meals and walking meditation. Buddhist teachings on love, embodied in the four Brahma-viharas—Maitri (offering happiness), Karuna (transforming pain), Mudita (sharing joy), and Upeksha (equanimity)—emphasize impartiality and non-self. True Buddhist love fosters happiness, compassion, and freedom, preventing possessiveness and suffering. Cultivating Maitri and Karuna joyfully heals anger and afflictions, emphasizing self-care and mindfulness. The Five Precepts embody mindful living, fostering compassion and interconnectedness, guiding practitioners towards immediate happiness and protection.
