Continuing the 50 Verses on Manifestation-Only, verse 19 presents maturation—another name for the store consciousness (alaya-vijnana)—which means the fruition of seeds nourished by bodily, verbal, and mental actions, manifesting through body, mind, and the environment we are experiencing.

Explanation of the three Natures:

  1. parikalpita (imagined nature): the world fabricated by the two delusions of “self” and “object”;
  2. paratantra (dependent nature): the nature of interdependence, revealed through the practice of impermanence and non-self;
  3. niṣpanna (Suchness): the true nature that transcends all concepts, which is Nirvana itself.

The Vietnamese section refers to the gap between the “shallow” and “deep” aspects of a person, encouraging harmony through the practice of mindfulness and the five contemplations on fear:

  1. I will inevitably grow old
  2. I will inevitably get sick
  3. I will inevitably die
  4. I will be separated from all that is dear to me
  5. I am the heir to my actions
