During the five-day Dharma teaching trip in London, the highlight was the memorial ceremony for Elder Teacher Thanh Quy, featuring the recitation of the eulogy in classical Chinese and its Vietnamese translation, fully praising the noble virtues and deeds of a true teacher:

  1. Ordained at a young age
  2. Coming and going freely
  3. Joyful physical presence
  4. Humble appearance
  5. Compassionate heart revealed, boundless loving-kindness
  6. Sublime conduct in silence
  7. Great courage, fearless
  8. With the bamboo staff firmly planted, the ancestral path flourishes
  9. Descendants protected, the lineage shines brightly

The Dharma talk vividly depicted the presence of Elder Teacher transcending space and time within the ancestral temple grounds, calling on the Sangha to see each other as family, to practice in the present moment through the Dharma doors of walking meditation, sitting meditation, mindful eating, forgiveness, and nurturing the foundation of Tu Hieu. Other joyful news included the ordination ceremony for four Western and Vietnamese younger siblings with the Dharma names Chân Pháp Bảo, Chân Lệ Nghiêm, Chân Hòa Nghiêm, and Chân Pháp Hưng; encouragement to apply the daily practice liturgy in Vietnamese; organizing Mindfulness Practice Centers without distinction of religion; and the announcement of a Dharma teaching tour in China with retreats and Dharma talks in Beijing, Nanjing, Bailin, Linji, Nanhua, and more. Finally, two practice songs, “The Four Recollections” and “Repentance Gatha,” were presented for the Sangha to chant together, bringing peace and happiness in the present moment.
