We begin with questions from the children and young people:

  1. What is so interesting about your life?
  2. Why do you like to write?
  3. How can a Christian practice Buddhism?
  4. When did you want to become a monk?
  5. What was I before I was a seed, where was I, what was I doing, and who was I playing with?
  6. What emotions or feelings drove you to become a monk?
  7. How did the tradition of shaving monks and nuns’ heads start?

Followed by questions from adults and teenagers:

  1. How did the idea of Engaged Buddhism manifest itself and get started in Vietnam?
  2. What do you think about gathering people to march on Washington D.C. to mindfully persuade the president to take a different approach to the conflict between America and Afghanistan?
  3. Can the community meet to form a practical, specific commitment to make a parliament of deep listening happen soon?
  4. How can I send love to an uncle who sexually abused me when I have tremendous fear?
  5. Considering the historical aspects of Judaism regarding defense and survival, is there ever a time to fight?
  6. How do we help children with limited abilities due to disability or illness, and how do we help the parents and caregivers trying to take care of them?
  7. Is this comfort worth the poisoning of the earth and ourselves when we could still hear you without all this?
