The Freedom of Mindfulness
The details of this discussion show that it is possible to survive without modern devices such as phones, computers, and cars by using conscious breathing and walking meditation to calm the mind, manage emotions, and live fully in the present moment. Mindfulness helps to overcome despair, anxiety, and suffering, allowing us to touch the depth of the kingdom of God present within and around us. The Sutra on the Full Awareness of Breathing teaches how to use conscious breathing to handle daily challenges, reuniting mind and body. This practice helps to recognize and transform negative emotions, cultivating happiness and inner peace. Mindfulness leads to concentration (samadhi) and deep understanding (prajna), allowing us to manage anger with gentleness and compassion. Buddhist meditation is based on mindfulness, concentration, and insight, cultivating perfect understanding (maha-prajna) to transcend suffering. Collective practice in a sangha community helps each person to live fully in the present, recognize and relieve inner suffering.
