This talk details Plum Village’s 26th summer opening, lasting four weeks, now joined by 4,000 practitioners from 45 countries. It emphasizes mindful breathing and walking to bring peace and joy, even to children. Learning these practices increases happiness and reduces suffering. Plum Village monks, nuns, and lay practitioners teach mindfulness, with some now Dharma teachers. Sitting meditation brings peace, stability, and freedom, likened to sitting lightly on a lotus flower. Teaching young people peaceful sitting can help reduce violence and suffering. Even brief moments of sitting mindfully can spread peace and joy.
