On October 26, Thay’s complete Dharma talk at Thammasat University, attended by 3,000 people, was published in the Bangkok Post, Thailand’s leading newspaper, similar to The New York Times. Thay hopes that major newspapers in Vietnam such as Sai Gon Giai Phong, Tuoi Tre, and Thanh Nien will also publish the full Dharma talk so that the people may benefit and have access to teachings on letting go of tension, deep listening, and loving speech, in order to dissolve resentment and build true solidarity among the red shirts, yellow shirts, and blue shirts.

Thay proposes to organize a space of compassion, inviting venerable spiritual teachers and dialogue among the three groups: those aligned with the government, those opposing the government, and those in between—Buddhism stands with the third group in the spirit of letting go. The practice is carried out in three main stages:

  • In the first ten days, focus on playing, eating together, walking meditation, and relaxing breathing, with Sister Chan Khong guiding deep relaxation meditation;
  • Coming in touch with the blue sky and white clouds to nourish and heal wounds, accompanied by both monastics and lay friends;
  • Practicing deep listening and loving speech, without blaming or shouting, in order to release frustration and open the heart to reconciliation.

Loving words are broadcast widely to create gentleness and the opportunity to sit together and seek a common solution—this is considered the greatest contribution of Buddhism to the country.
