Chant
The precious censer burns fine incense, with aloeswood smoke swirling and spreading throughout the ten directions. The bodhi mind is extraordinarily courageous, radiating light wherever it touches, and everywhere is clearly peaceful and settled to respectfully offer to the Compassionate One. We respectfully make an Incense Offering to the Buddha and the Bodhisattvas.
The sacred moment when the wind calms, the birds stop, and the earth trembles seven times as the deathless crosses the stream of birth and death. The hand turning the Dharma wheel in the pure night fragrance, the auspicious mudra blooms white like a flower while the three thousand worlds sing in unison to praise Shakyamuni Buddha. The deathless flower blooms right in the garden of birth and death, and the bud of enlightenment opens into myriad skillful means when He comes here to learn the human language.
Looking from the Tushita heaven, the earth is brighter than a bright star, and stars from all directions gather until the eastern sun shines forth. Lumbini Garden transforms into a soft cradle welcoming the newborn Buddha. The music of this piece is drawn from the traditional ceremonial music of Buddhism, unlike secular music, and is related to the praise chant.
