In the Dhirga Agama, the Buddha emphasizes the profound nature of conditioned co-arising, explaining that understanding causes and conditions is key to ending suffering. Death arises from birth, and birth arises from being, with multiple causes influencing our experiences. Understanding these interconnected causes, akin to seeds requiring favorable conditions, is crucial for self-awareness. The Buddha teaches that consciousness and body need conditions for growth, and attachment to realms like desire, form, and formless realms hinders liberation. Recognizing the impermanent nature of the skandhas reveals the fallacy of attaching “I” to them. The Buddha highlighted mindfulness and interconnectedness to transcend suffering, emphasizing karma’s role in shaping our reality. Understanding the absence of independent origins, as taught in the Prajnaparamita Sutra, reduces suffering. Embracing impermanence and selflessness leads to nirvana, with consciousness continuously influenced by latent seeds awaiting manifestation.
