Mindful Breathing: Transformation and Healing
Thay speaks about why we want to practice breathing-in and breathing-out, as we don’t have to suffer and can produce the energy of joy. The talk covers the first exercise of mindful breathing, walking in the Kingdom as an end in itself, and the three energies: mindfulness, concentration, and insight. Additionally, the talk discusses store and mind consciousness with mental formations, the teaching of The Second Arrow, the five universal mental formations (contact, attention, feeling, perception, volition), and the five particular mental formations (intention, resolution, mindfulness, concentration, and insight).
This is the second talk in a series of four given during The Art of Suffering retreat in the year 2013. Thay offered this talk at the Blue Cliff Monastery in Pine Bush, New York State.
