Heart of the Buddha 9 - Fasting
This talk details fasting on the ninth day of the retreat, emphasizing consuming only water for at least 10 days annually. Another method involves magnesium sulfate dissolved in warm water each morning. Drink two glasses of magnesium solution and follow with ten mindful movements to aid toxin elimination. Drinking three liters of water or herbal tea daily aids flushing toxins. Enemas can help toxins leave the body. Fasting for 10 to 21 days can rejuvenate and improve well-being. Impermanence and non-self are key Buddhist teachings, enhancing daily life quality. Understanding interconnectedness reduces suffering and increases joy. Mindfulness nurtures right view, enriching the Eightfold Noble Path. Taking refuge in Buddha and Sangha is transformative, and emptiness should be a practical tool, not a debated concept. The retreat ends with a precept transmission ceremony for mindfulness trainings.
