Heart of the Buddha Three: The Interbeing Nature of the Four Holy Truths, The Absolute and the Relative
This title has been reviewed for accuracy.
Thay presents the practice of Touching the Earth, starting with the five touchings and transitioning to the three touchings after a week, to heal pain and connect with ancestors and children. It emphasizes practicing mindfulness, belly breathing, and recognizing interconnectedness (interbeing) to overcome suffering and cultivate well-being.
Understanding the Four Noble Truths and practicing the Noble Eightfold Path are essential for liberation. The teachings highlight the interconnectedness of all things, transcending notions of self, lifespan, and impermanence to achieve nirvāṇa. Embrace mindfulness to cherish happiness and overcome suffering, recognizing that nirvāṇa is attainable in the present moment.
This is the third talk in a series of twelve given during The Heart of the Buddha, twenty-one-day retreat in the year 1996. Thay offered this talk at the Upper Hamlet, Plum Village, France.
