I Have Arrived I Am Home
Thầy highlights how we can generate the energy of mindfulness and concentration by listening, with all the cells in our body, to the sound of the bell. He explains how, by this practice, we can achieve oneness of body and mind, and allow ourselves to return fully to the only place where life is available: the present moment. Thầy goes onto elaborate the first four of the sixteen exercises of mindful breathing, as presented by the Buddha in the Ānāpānasati Sutta.
Thầy concludes by offering guidance on walking meditation. Going through the words from the song ‘I Have Arrived’, Thầy teaches us how we can use phrases such as ‘I have arrived, I am home’ in synch with our breath and steps to help us realise the wonders of the present moment, and be free from the regrets of the past and fears about the future.
This the thirteenth talk in a series of sixteen given during the Summer Opening in the year 2014. Thầy offered this talk at the Upper Hamlet, Plum Village, France.
