Thầy shares how we are all part-time buddhas who can learn to become full-time buddhas. Thầy talks about the joy of enjoying the present moment, finding happiness in the here and the now. Then Thầy explains the concepts of store consciousness and mind consciousness, the bījas or seeds present in the store consciousness and how they become mental formations when manifesting in the mind consciousness as well as the importance of cultivating positive mental formations and of appropriate attention. Furthermore, Thầy delves into collective karma and individual karma, explaining how thought, speech and action are karma already. Thầy insists on the importance of living in a nourishing, healing environment to prevent the negative seeds from manifesting. Finally Thầy talks about how the three energies—mindfulness, concentration and insight—can help us realize our Buddha-nature.

This talk was given during the We are Life Without Boundaries retreat in year 2007. Thay offered this talk at the Deer Park Monastery, California, in the United States.
