"Mindful Breathing: The Bridge to True Love and Understanding Impermanence"
Tiêu đề này đã được xem xét về tính chính xác.
Thay focuses on mindful breathing and its subtle impact, emphasizing letting breath flow naturally and focusing on pleasure. Understanding and practicing the sixteen exercises of mindful breathing is crucial, starting with stability exercises and switching as needed. Mindfulness combines the present moment and the mind, acting as a bridge between body and mind, cultivated through senses and daily activities. Deep listening and compassionate speech alleviate suffering, requiring patience and mindfulness. True love involves four elements: loving-kindness (maîtrī), compassion (karuṇā), joy (muditā), and equanimity (upekṣā). Recognizing impermanence prevents suffering, enhances happiness, and emphasizes acting in the present moment. Understanding impermanence, non-self, and nirvana are essential teachings for authentic insight and reducing suffering.
This is the tenth talk in a series given during The Path of Emancipation, twenty-one-day retreat in the year 1998. Thay offered this talk at St. Michael’s College, Burlington, Vermont, in the United States.
