Mindfulness and Selective Touching: Embracing Positivity and Healing
Dear Sangha, we explore sense impressions and touching through our senses - eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind. There are two types of touching: external, like seeing the blue sky, and internal, like facing troubling realities. Recognizing our limits is crucial, as excessive negativity can lead to illness. Selective touching, balancing positivity and negativity, prevents despair. Mindfulness guides selective touching, fostering healing. Attention, or Manaskara, connects us to goodness or negativity. Surrounding oneself with mindful individuals supports positivity. The Sangha embodies mindfulness, offering collective energy for growth. Seek communal living for spiritual growth, avoiding solitude. Mindfulness in daily tasks connects us to the cosmos. Volition fuels vitality, guiding intentions positively. Embrace Dharma practice for wisdom and compassion, transforming intentions positively. Recognize harmful influences and cultivate positivity, avoiding harmful desires. Bodhicitta, the aspiration for enlightenment, is nourished by teachings and Sangha support. Mindfulness nurtures positive seeds, avoiding negativity. Buddha teaches mindfulness as protection, transforming consciousness positively.
