Practicing With Our Anger

Thich Nhat Hanh · July 14, 2006 · Upper Hamlet, Plum Village, France
Feedback

Thay shares very concrete ways to practice to transform our anger with mindfulness and non-violence. The antidote of anger is compassion and we can cultivate compassion. Reconciliation is possible with loving speech and deep listening. Thay teaches how we can practice to be able to listen deeply, like the bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara. The Buddha taught that nothing can survive without food. We have to stop the consumption of violence and anger in the media and select sources that nourish compassion and loving kindness in ourselves and in our children.

This is the third talk in a series of four, given during the Summer Opening retreat in the year 2006. Thay offered this talk at the Upper Hamlet, Plum Village, France.
