The details of this Dharma Talk took place at Phap Van Temple during the spring retreat, where people listened to the Dharma Talk even though the temple’s patriarch could not attend. On May 28, in 34 days, it will be the ordination day for future novice monks, and on June 28, in one month and four days, some of you will receive the ordination precepts. The preparation steps include writing a letter to request permission from the Sangha, inviting family and friends. Within 4 days after the ordination ceremony, the Plum Village delegation will travel to the United Kingdom for about 6-7 days. Thay will have three Dharma Talks in London before going to Germany, where many events will take place from June 7 to June 18, including a Day of Mindfulness, a retreat, and the German Protestant Church Congress with about 7,000 Germans and 100,000 participants from the German Protestant Church. During the recent trip to the United States, about 2,800-3,000 people attended Thay’s Dharma Talks in San Diego and Boston. A health incident required Thay to have an eye examination at Columbia University Hospital in New York instead of attending the graduation ceremony at Long Island University. The events took place in a spirit of harmony and happiness among the novice monks, and Thay emphasized the importance of recording and cherishing present happiness.
