Good morning, dear friends. Today is the tenth of April, 2014. We are in the Upper Hamlet, in the Still Water Meditation Hall. And today is the sixth day of our Francophone retreat.
Today we have a session of questions and answers. There are some questions that have already been written down here. And Brother Phap Linh will read one of these questions from time to time. You are invited to come up and ask your question in person. The first questions are reserved for the young people. Young people are encouraged to come up and ask their questions. And then, we adults will have our time to ask our questions. Those of you who have a question are invited to come and sit close to Thay. And we will take turns sitting in this chair so that everyone can see us.
The practice is that before asking a question, we will listen to the bell and breathe with the Sangha three times to calm ourselves before asking the question. And we know that a good question does not need to be very long. We should ask a question that has to do with our practice, our suffering, our joy, and our happiness. You can also ask a question for the benefit of a friend. You can write it down on a piece of paper and pass it to Brother Phap Linh, who is sitting next to me. Or you can ask the question directly to the Sangha, to us. So the young people are invited to come up, and the adults and the not-so-young are also invited to come up.

Dear Thay, I read that the Buddha said we should live in joy and peace even if we are with people who are in suffering and sadness.
