Yesterday, I spoke to you about Thénac. We have a monastic brother named Phap An, the Seal of the Dharma, who is now the director of the European Institute of Applied Buddhism in Germany. He is an elder brother in the Sangha. One day, during a Summer Retreat, in the middle of the day, he had a dream, a dream that lasted only two minutes. He was sitting at the foot of the linden tree. He saw a French commander arriving in uniform. There were many French soldiers, thousands of French soldiers in his dream that lasted only two minutes.
The practitioners had started to arrive. The brothers of Upper Hamlet were preparing to welcome the retreatants. And Brother Phap An was there. In his dream, he saw a French commander arriving with many French soldiers. And they wanted to register for the Summer Retreat. And Brother Phap An said, "It is impossible, we are full. We have no place for you to sleep. It is impossible." And the commander said this: "Do not worry. The most important thing is that you accept us, and we can arrange the rest." And then he woke up.
I think this is a collective energy, a collective vision of transformation. We need peace, the energy of peace, the energy of mindfulness. And because we had already spent years practicing peace, mindful breathing, and mindful walking, we have touched every square centimeter of Thénac with mindfulness. So we have transformed the place. And the people living in the surrounding area have told us that the energy has completely transformed.
So it is a collective work, not the work of just one person. The Sangha. With the collective energy of mindfulness, concentration, and compassion, it can change not only people but also the environment. So it is a sanctuary, an oasis of peace that we have here, and this is why you are invited to offer your support, your time, and your practice, so that many people can benefit from this beautiful flower, not only
