This talk focuses on the concept of “Golden Lion Chapter” or “Dharma Realm,” describing the connection between the noumenal world and the phenomenal world. Thich Nhat Hanh teaches that these two worlds exist in parallel, creating an “inter-phenomenal world.” He describes that each cell contains the entire genetic and ancestral heritage, demonstrating that each particle contains the whole universe. He uses cloning techniques to illustrate that each individual embodies all the diversity and genetics of humanity. He also speaks about the concept of “one is all, all is one,” where the one and the all mutually support each other. He cites works by William Blake and Walt Whitman to illustrate that each particle contains the whole universe. He introduces the concept of “interbeing,” describing that all elements are interconnected, creating a complex and harmonious network. He connects this with David Bohm’s concept of “inter-implication,” that everything is interconnected, and upon looking deeply, everything is found within everything else. He concludes that deep awareness helps to see clearly that everything interacts and depends on each other, forming the foundation for one another.
