The Great Sutra Treasury - Southern Transmission 13
Each step on the path of life is itself the land of happiness: do not save it for tomorrow, do not hoard merit, but practice mindfulness in this very moment—in walking meditation, in drinking tea, in recognizing one another—as a “wordless chanting” that begins with the breath and with peace. From there, all creativity (songs, new lyrics) must also be rooted in each moment lived with mindfulness, not rushing to speak of distant theories.
Today we will study the suttas in the Majjhima Nikāya (Middle Length Discourses) 105–120:
- Sunakkhatta Sutta (105)
- Āneñjasappāya Sutta (106)
- Gaṇakamoggallāna Sutta (107)
- Gopakamoggallāna Sutta (108)
