The Sound of Mindfulness: Breathing, Smiling, and Being Present
The bell’s sound guides mindfulness practice, bringing us back to our inner home. Mindfulness involves breathing deeply, acknowledging thoughts, and cultivating positive seeds while preventing negative ones from dominating. Plum Village practices mindful breathing with telephone rings, walking meditation, and answering calls slowly. Mindfulness generates warmth, protection, acceptance, insight, and love, crucial for Buddhist meditation. Bodhicitta, the seed of mindfulness, requires nurturing like a queen caring for an unborn child. Daily mindfulness practice involves breathing deeply, smiling, and being present in activities, providing peace and healing. Mindfulness rearranges situations beautifully, connecting breath with physical sensations for tangible practice. Breathing deeply cleanses and refreshes, bringing attention to the present moment and gratitude for movement. Practice joyfully and effortlessly, wishing peaceful rest for all.
