The Wisdom Of Non-Discrimination

Thich Nhat Hanh · March 26, 2004 · Deer Park Monastery, United States

Thay talks about the wisdom of non-discrimination, as well as the three complexes which bring about a lot of suffering - superiority complex, inferiority complex, and equality complex. He teaches that understanding the concept of interbeing—where everything is interconnected and contains everything else—leads to liberation through the realization of non-self. With this awareness all complexes are dissolved.

Thay also touches on the Four Noble Truths and why they are noble, clarifying how non-discrimination can lead to the fourth Noble Truth (cessation of suffering) with right view, right thinking, right action etc..

This is the first talk in a series of two given during the Colors of Compassion retreat in the year 2004. Thay offered this retreat at the Deer Park Monastery, California, in the United States.
