Ethics in Action: The Youth Heart of Sangha

Thầy explores the transformative power of Sangha—the community of practice—and the importance of cultivating aspiration, ethical conduct, and practical mindfulness in daily life. He highlights how young people and practitioners can harness their energy, desire, and collective action to alleviate suffering in themselves, their communities, and the world.

Through reflections on the Uposadha tradition, and the nurturing of brotherhood and sisterhood, Thầy emphasizes that personal growth and social change are deeply interconnected. He offers concrete guidance for cultivating inner strength, compassion, and joy, while also illustrating how mindful action can be applied in schools, retreats, and broader society.

This talk is a heartfelt call to live with intention, to nurture our aspirations, and to contribute actively to a world rooted in understanding, peace, and collective care.

This talk was offered during a Day of Mindfulness in the summer of 2011. Thầy offered this talk at the Upper Hamlet, Plum Village, France.
