“From the magnolia tree, we learn a lesson from nature: harmony, non-separation, nurturing and growing together.” The happiness of a family or a sangha must operate in this way: “The happiness of the sangha is truly our own happiness.” Living selflessly is not just empty words, but we must “practice living in accordance with the truth and the Dharma” in all activities: studying, meditating, eating, washing dishes, teaching.

If we want meditation and daily life to have high quality, we need to “strictly observe the regulations” in the meditation hall, Dharma hall, and the Five Contemplations Dining Hall; there should be “a mindfulness monitor” to maintain “Noble Silence,” reminding anyone who is “not sitting in the correct posture.” Our health relies on “three main factors”:

  1. eating properly
  2. sitting properly
  3. moving properly.
“Disease enters through the mouth,” so we must eliminate “impure foods, junk food,” keep “wholesome food,” and restore “the ten mindful movements” every day.

The European Institute of Applied Buddhism will open a “21-day course for young people before marriage,” with a “certificate” awarded. Only “teachers who are successful in the practice” will receive the highest diploma. We must distinguish between “guest monastics” and “sangha members”: if you leave the community, “there are no rights to personal funds or certificates,” and to return, you need “three to six months” of practice before the Ceremony of Re-admittance.
