Impermanence and Interbeing, Nirvana is Present

Contemplate impermanence to see that all dharmas arise and cease, are non-self and inter-are:

  1. Inter-being: this is because that is, wave is water, water is wave.
  2. Inter-penetration: all dharmas enter into one another.
  3. Inter-containing: each dharma contains the other.

Contemplate non-craving, recognize the bare-bone nature of craving, such as:
– a dog gnawing endlessly on a bare bone and never satisfied,
– holding a torch against the wind and burning one’s own hand,
– a piece of raw meat being snatched away, and the big net killing the small bird,
– the dream of glory and wealth.

Contemplate nirvana in the present moment by letting go of the eight wrong notions (the eight “nons”):
• no birth, no death, neither being nor non-being, no coming, no going, neither one nor many.

Contemplate letting go of the two obstructing perceptions:
– this body is myself (body view),
– my life span is limited (view of life span).
