This talk details the essence of reality or “suchness,” which is beyond words and concepts, and how the title “Tathagata” for the Buddha signifies being from and returning to suchness. Suchness is the source of all beings, like water for waves, and our perception determines our connection with reality. We can access ultimate reality directly through mindfulness and practice, with teachings like impermanence, no-self, and interbeing as tools. Daily suffering stems from misunderstanding and inaccurate perceptions, creating suffering out of fear and ignorance. The eighteen realms encompass all aspects of being, including the six sense organs, their corresponding objects, and the resulting consciousness, which collectively constitute the objects of our perception within the eight realms.
