Cultivating a Beautiful Inner Landscape Through Right Diligence

Thay presents the five universal mental formations and the five particular mental formations and how we can use those to develop Right View, a fundamental aspect of the Noble Eightfold Path. The talk discusses first whether the Buddha suffered, then looks at store and mind consciousness before discussing how we can transform our suffering. The talk then introduces mental formations, looking at the five universals and the five particulars and how we can practice Right Diligence and develop Right View. Finally, in the last fifteen minutes the talk looks at interbeing and transcending the notion of being and non-being, although this part of the video is not well preserved and may be difficult for viewers to follow.

This is the second talk in a series of four given during the Healing Ourselves, Healing the World retreat in the year 2013. Thay offered this talk at the Magnolia Grove Monastery, Mississippi in the United States.
