Buddhism offers a heritage of deep teachings to enrich our daily practice of mindfulness. Below you can find selected key Buddhist texts (also known as "sutras") regularly recited and studied in Plum Village. These are modern translations made by Thich Nhat Hanh, based on scholarly research into ancient Classical Chinese, Pali and Sanskrit texts. Sources for the original texts in Chinese or Pali are given at the end of each sutra.
When we read a sutra, we can ask ourselves, "What does this sutra have to do with my daily life?" or "How can apply this sutra to a difficulty I am facing right now?"
