Our beloved teacher, Thich Nhat Hanh, often expressed his heartfelt wish to offer young adults the teachings and practices of mindfulness to help them cultivate true love and understanding on their life journey together. This themed week is an effort to to realize Thay’s wish. However, it warmly welcomes individuals of all ages who aspire to create a happy and harmonious family lifestyle for themselves and their loved ones.
Whether you are embarking on a committed relationship, or a marriage with the wish to have children and a happy family life or are living with a group of friends as a “family” supporting one another in your collective living together, or are in another form of a family configuration, this week of practice might be of interest to you.
We will practice mindfulness together throughout the day in different activities such as sitting meditation, walking meditation, eating meditation, deep relaxation and working meditation. The Art of Communication including the practices of deep listening and loving speech will help keep our love fresh, beautiful, and alive, ways to reconcile. There will be also group discussions to share our experiences and understanding to broaden our perspectives.
The week of practice will enable us to create harmony, peace and happiness in our body and mind, thus facilitating more understanding and love in our family relationships.
