New Year’s Retreat

This retreat is fully booked.

Plum Village is delighted to be able to open again and to welcome our wider community to join us, in person, here in Plum Village to welcome the New Year 2022. We are looking forward to being together as a fourfold spiritual family.

Please note: All guests are asked to observe the relevant health protocols in line with the law here in France. You can find more information about how we can enjoy a safe and joyful time together here.

It is a very special time of year in Plum Village, with music, singing, mindfulness practices and moving celebrations on New Year’s Eve. It is a time to truly “come home”, to enjoy a strong energy of togetherness as a spiritual family.

We continue our daily practice of sitting meditation, walking meditation, mindful eating and mindful working, with adaptations to reflect this joyful time of year.

We hope you enjoy this little glimpse of the New Year’s Eve Be-In in 2019:

New Year Week: arriving Tuesday 28 December, departing Tuesday 4 January.

To support a harmonious and stable collective energy, please do not arrive or depart on any other day. Although there will be no guided program or special activities for children, families are welcome to join us.

New Years Eve 2020-2021

This holiday is the first time we are open to welcome you all back to practice with us and to celebrate the ending and beginning of a new year, a new beginning in our lives. This is also the first time we are receiving our friends without a week of quarantine. However, with a new variant of the virus outbreak in Europe and France, we have a few measures to ensure the safety for you and for the whole Sangha.

Thich Nhat Hanh Parallel Verse 2013

For the first three days of your arrival, from the 28/12 to the 31/12, there will be a special group of monastics who will be present with you in all your activities. All your activities will be limited to the Transformation Hall (Upper Hamlet) & Full Moon Meditation Hall (New Hamlet), including morning and evening sitting meditation, Dharma sharing, meals, mindful service, etc. After three days, you will be embraced and welcome into the bubble of the Upper Hamlet or New Hamlet and of Plum Village. In this way, we are doing the best to protect you and protect the Sangha.

We deeply appreciate your understanding, acceptance and kindness in supporting the housing limitations and our effort to protect everyone.
