Gratefulness: Brother David Steindl-Rast and Thich Nhat Hanh

A beautiful video where the two spiritual teachers speak about gratefulness as well as many other topics.

Brother David Steindl-Rast and Thich Nhat Hanh first met in the USA in the mid-1960s. In the 1980s they walked together peacefully to protest against nuclear proliferation.

In this touching video, documenting a conversation between the two at Plum Village monastery in France, they speak about topics like what a peace movement should look like, the importance of gratitude, and memories of Martin Luther King Jr. Their conversation is interspersed with footage from Plum Village and interviews with Thich Nhat Hanh’s monastic students.

Gratefullness can be felt with every step, you are alive and your feet are still strong enough to take steps on this beautiful planet.

Thich Nhat Hanh
