Planting trees and bringing in the harvest—we invite you to be part of a nourishing and meaningful week on the Happy Farm in Lower Hamlet (October 10 – October 17 2025).
During this week, we will plant around 80 trees to cultivate and care for our land. We would like to bring more diversity, shade, and beauty. Caring for trees and cultivating your own vegetables are simple acts of empowerment and love. Counteracting a society where everything is readymade, we will connect to the simplicity of being human, nourish our connection with the land, and be in touch with the interconnectedness of life.
The Happy Farm is a project of agroecology and organic regenerative agriculture within our mindfulness practice community (read more at thehappyfarm.org).
During this week of practice, we will experience together what it means to bring mindfulness to work through mindful service at the Happy Farm and in the community. We will have the beautiful mission of planting trees in different areas of the hamlet, while also taking care of and harvesting vegetables, and preparing the farm for winter.
We will enjoy the Plum Village mindfulness practices together, such as sitting meditation, walking meditation, and Dharma sharing during the week. At the end of the week, we will celebrate our time of practice together, nourishing ourselves as well as our deep connection to the natural world.
