In Love with Mother Earth

Happy Farm and Tree Planting

Lower Hamlet and the Happy Farm team are delighted to announce our next ‘Happy Farm and Tree planting Week’ in Lower Hamlet (October 10 – October 17 2025).

The Happy Farm is a project of agroecology and organic regenerative agriculture within our mindfulness practice community. You will have a chance to experience first-hand the interconnection between earth, rain, sun, and seed with the hands and feet of a “farmer”. The farms use a variety of organic and regenerative methods. We practice mindfulness in our work as part of our vision of promoting wellbeing for individuals, society, and the earth (read more on thehappyfarm.org).

During this week of practice, we will experience together what it means to bring mindfulness to work through mindful service at the Happy Farm and in the community. We will have the beautiful mission to plant trees in different areas of the hamlet, while also taking care and harvesting vegetables and preparing the farm for winter.

We will enjoy together the Plum Village mindfulness practices such as sitting meditation, walking meditation and Dharma sharing during the week. At the end of the week we will celebrate our time of practice together, nourishing ourselves as well as our deep connection to the natural world.
