Honoring Thay and Celebrating
40 Years of Plum Village
14-Day in-person retreat
3 – 17 June, 2022
Dear Order of Interbeing friends,
You are warmly invited to join us in Plum Village in southwest France as we gather as an international community to honor our teacher and celebrate four decades since the founding of Plum Village in 1982. This two-week retreat will be a special opportunity to generate a powerful collective energy of mindfulness here in the root temple of the Plum Village Tradition as we honor our teacher and the wonderful path of engaged practice he has opened up for us all.
With the presence of Sister Chan Khong and many other elder disciples of Thay we will be nourished by inspiring talks, shared memories and laughter, and the joy of being in this beautiful environment that Thay created and made his home. From a humble, rural homestead in the early 1980s Plum Village has today become a thriving and engaged mindfulness practice center, and the spiritual root of eleven further practice centers on three continents. In this retreat we will enjoy live teachings and celebrations of our flourishing community, as well as formal practices, a Lamp Transmission Ceremony, and a Transmission of the Fourteen Mindfulness Trainings of the Order of Interbeing.
We look forward to practicing together.
- Please note that this is a two-week retreat. To support the stability and collective energy of mindfulness, all participants are asked to stay the full two weeks, and only arrive & leave on the designated days. Arrival day is Friday 3rd June and departure day is Friday 17 June.
- There is an opportunity for experienced practitioners to join us and serve as volunteers supporting the retreat. Please apply here.
