This Dharma Talk was recorded on 25 October 2026 in Lower Hamlet, Plum Village France. This was the second Dharma talk of the 2026-2027 Rains Retreat at Plum Village France.
The day this talk took place, the new monastic novices of the Myrtle Tree Family presented to the community their request to be ordained, and offered roses to the spiritual ancestors in a beautiful ceremony. In this Dharma talk, Sister Thuan Nghiem offered advice for the new novices, which also applies to all practitioners with a strong beginner’s mind and an aspiration to heal and transform. Sister Thuan Nghiem talked about the importance of patience, of keeping up with the daily practice schedule, and of simple living. She talked about the practice of letting go of self-limiting ideas as well as of self-righteousness, so that one may grow beautifully in the Sangha.
