Plum Village practice is very simple. First of all, we make use of our breathing and our steps to generate joy, and happiness, and peace. The energy of mindfulness allows us to see that there are miracles and wonders in the present moment, and that we have enough conditions to be joyful and happy. And so generating joy, peace, and happiness is something we can do, right now, today. We have to be able to learn to do it in order to nourish ourself. This is the art of happiness, the art of generating happiness. The second part of the practice is to recognize the tension, the anxiety, the suffering, and calm them down. And we know that the practice of mindful breathing and mindful steps can help us to do that, to recognize and to calm down as we have done with our breathing, with our body.
