Plum Village Japan Teaching Tour 2026

Join us on a transformative teaching tour across Japan, led by 11 monastics from the four Plum Village centers worldwide, as we cultivate mindfulness, healing, and connection. The journey will culminate in a five-day family retreat at the foot of Mt. Fuji, where participants can immerse themselves in the collective energy of mindfulness, surrounded by the serene beauty and steadfast presence of Mt. Fuji in the stillness of nature.

The teaching tour follows the pilgrimage retreat in Shikoku. After the pilgrimage, a group of monastics will return to Hiroshima for a peace walk before continuing eastward to Toyota for a Day of Mindfulness at a renowned Pure Land temple, followed by an evening event at Nagoya University discussing AI and the role of mindfulness.

Concurrently, a three-day retreat for Vietnamese-speaking friends will take place over the weekend in Saitama. In Kamakura, a series of events includes a one-day hiking retreat along sacred trails rich in history and spiritual significance, a one-day retreat at Kenchoji—one of the Rinzai Headquarter Temple—and a weekend retreat for educators and parents in Tokyo.

  • Date: April 23 – May 10, 2026
  • Location: Nagoya, Toyota, Tokyo, Kamakura, Saitama and Yamanashi

All teachings & activities will be conducted in English with Japanese translation.
