On May 11th, the multifold community at Plum Village, France, gathered in the Lower Hamlet to celebrate Vesak—commemorating the birth, enlightenment, and passing (parinirvana) of Shakyamuni Buddha.
In her Dharma talk, Sister Chan Duc shared that as we bathe the baby Buddha during this celebration, we are also bathing the seed of awakening—of deep understanding—within ourselves.
Despite the rain, more than 500 monastics and lay friends came together to practice and touch the awakened nature within themselves and each other.
